GRIPPERS - The purple grippers are soft for a smooth release at most line sizes. The red grippers are firm for higher release tensions. The gripper tension can be set by turning the micro-adjustment screw with the wrench provided, one turn equals .025 in. Once adjusted for a particular line size and release tension, no adjustment will be necessary. **Don’t over tighten the micro-adjustment screw or the clip fingers will be sprung.** SNAP/HOOK END - The hook end will snap on and off of most lines from 2# to 200#. Remember you can tie a large line through the eye in the snap end without using the snap gate. (i.e. Tag line) RELEASE TENSION - To set the exact release tension of the gripper follow these simple steps. Take a sample length of the line size you want to release, and tie a 3 in. diameter loop at one end. Slip one side of the loop between the gripper fingers. Use the loop as a tool to set the desired release tension. Start with the soft grippers first then move on to firm grippers if you must. (If firm grippers won’t hold you have exceeded the capacity of the clip.) Learn how to use the Omni Clip and it will accompany you on many enjoyable release clip trips. Oh, by the way, lose a few - Please!
